Bio:

Dr. Younan Xia is a Bloomberg Distinguished Professor at Johns Hopkins University, with joint appointments in Materials Science and Engineering and Biomedical Engineering. He earned degrees from USTC, the University of Pennsylvania, and Harvard University. His group has pioneered nanomaterials for applications in catalysis, energy, electronics, and regenerative medicine, including silver nanowires now used in flexible displays and electrospun nanofibers applied in clinical wound care. Dr. Xia has published over 900 papers with ~200,000 citations (h-index 223) and has received numerous honors, including the Linus Pauling Medal (2024), ACS Award for Creative Invention (2023), and MRS Medal (2017).
