Bio:

Prof. Luigi Vaccaro is Full Professor at the University of Perugia, Italy, where he leads the Green S.O.C. research group. He is a Fellow of the Royal Society of Chemistry (FRSC) and has held editorial roles in leading international journals, including Green Chemistry (RSC) and the Beilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry. He has also previously served as Associate Editor for RSC Advances.

Prof. Vaccaro’s research focuses on the development of sustainable and optimized chemical processes, integrating green chemistry principles, heterogeneous catalysis, safer solvents, and continuous-flow technologies. His work aims to advance environmentally responsible approaches in organic synthesis and industrial chemistry.

He has received numerous international awards and recognitions, including the Europa Medal from the Society of Chemical Industry (London), the G. Ciamician Medal of the Italian Chemical Society, the ADP Award from Merck, the Lady Davis Visiting Professorship, and the Pino Medal. He has authored approximately 320 scientific publications with a strong international impact.
