Talk Title:

Towards the Discovery of Single-Atom Catalysts for Electrochemical Reactions with Atomistic Simulations

Bio:

Dr. Giovanni Di Liberto is a Fixed-Term Assistant Professor of Chemistry at the University of Milan-Bicocca. He earned his degree (2015) and PhD from the University of Milan, followed by a research visit to the University of Barcelona in 2019.

His research in the Quantum Chemistry Lab focuses on computational materials science, specifically modeling semiconductors for photocatalysis. He investigates nanostructured oxides, thin films, and heterojunctions, studying quantum confinement effects from ultrathin films to bulk materials. His work also extends to simulating vibrational spectra in complex systems. This computational approach aims to predict and design advanced materials for sustainable energy applications.
