Bio:
Prof. Giancarlo Cravotto is Full Professor of Organic Chemistry at the University of Turin, where he has also served as Director and Vice-Director of the Department of Drug Science and Technology. His early career included experience in the chemical and pharmaceutical industries, followed by academic research in organic synthesis, including a research period at the Technische Universität Berlin. His academic leadership and contributions have positioned him as a key figure in applied and industrial chemistry.
Prof. Cravotto’s research focuses on green organic synthesis, extraction technologies, and the development of sustainable chemical processes. He has authored over 600 peer-reviewed publications, numerous patents, books, and book chapters, with significant impact in the field. His work has advanced the use of non-conventional energy sources such as microwave, ultrasound, and mechanochemistry, alongside the design of innovative hybrid reactors for industrial applications.
He has coordinated and contributed to numerous European and international research projects and maintains active collaborations with industry across multiple sectors. Prof. Cravotto serves on several editorial boards and has held prominent roles in international scientific organizations.
