Bio:
Prof. Fabrizio Cavani is Full Professor of Industrial Chemistry at the University of Bologna, Italy. He works in the Department of Industrial Chemistry “Toso Montanari” and is a leading expert in heterogeneous catalysis and sustainable chemical processes. His research focuses on the transformation of renewable raw materials and biomass into chemicals, fuels, and value-added products.
Prof. Cavani’s scientific work spans green and sustainable chemistry, catalytic selective oxidation, hydrogenation processes, and the development of nanostructured catalysts based on noble metals. He has also contributed significantly to the study of carboxylic acid ketonisation and catalytic routes for biomass-derived intermediates. His research integrates fundamental catalysis with industrial applications for sustainable chemical production.
